D'carlo's - Best Restaurant in North County

D'Carlos was, hands down the best dining experience I have had at a $25 per head or less restaurant. The restuarant has a cozy, intimate, atmosphere, the service staff are well dressed and attentive to your needs, I ate with a party of 4 and every single dish from the salad with it's delicious home made dressing to the hand prepared pastas and prime steaks, D'Carlos taste and service will have me coming back whenever I can.

Aji Seco - Just like Grandma's

I had a craving for a Ceviche Mixto and I was able to convince my hunny that we have Peruvian instead of Mexican. Peruvian (Good Peruvian) is near impossible to find in San Diego and funny enough we just moved from Clairemont to La Mesa and now I find that this little restaurant has opened only a few blocks from where we used to live. I had to try it, especially since the reviews raved about it. I ordered my Ceviche Mixto, a Tamale Peruano and Helado de Lucoma (the latter of which I had never tasted). It was as if I had gone to my grandmothers house for Christmas Dinner. DELICIOSOS! My hunny ordered a Tamale also and Aji de Gallina. The only other time he had tasted that was when a cousin of mine attempted it - Aji Seco's was 10x's better with a wonderful nutty cream sauce.

Aji Seco - Very good Peruvian

My wife, son and I went here on 7/10 (my birthday). Based on the other review of this place we went knowing it would be good, but maybe with some hiccups. Well, there were no hiccups. We started with the Yuca appetizer. It was fried, not breaded and wasn't oily but was crisp and piping hot. Served with lightly pickled (lemon juice was predominant) red onions and the Aji sauce. A spicy sauce that was a good dip for the Yuca.

Santouka - This ain't your 39 cent dorm room hot plate ramen

Until recently, my only experience with ramen had been with the instant kind to which you add hot water and flavor packet. This was a staple during my college days since it was both cheap and fast.

Roppongi - Bad service

The service in this place sucks! They hardly filled our glasses and did not take the plates out of the way. Food was cold by the time it got to our table.

Dave & Busters - Don't Bother Eating Here

Don't bother eating here. The service was a horrible experience. The server didn't know any of the rules associated with the specials, and he was constantly trying to upsell drinks for a bigger tip, even after we told him that we just wanted food several times...annoying!!! The food was poor quality (we ordered the ribs) very fatty and the sauce was bland. Great place to get drunk and play video games, but eat before you get there.

A friend of mine went here and they charged her $93 on her card for a burrito and some rolled tacos. They did not know how to void the chaarge so it took 5 hours for the money to be put back in her account. Unfornutatly this withdrew her account happening at 5pm on a sat leaving her an account balance of zero when. The owner angelie said what do you want me to do? Then before she could say any thing she laughed and said borrow the money from your boyfriend.

Place-Glatt Kosher Market Restaurant - Kosher Market in San Diego

This market is ok. They do not have a selection for vegetarians and I am one. It is also not as clean as expected. There is a new one, however, that opened in UTC... I believe its called renaissance produce or market. That place is amazing because they have a huge selection of vegetarian, vegans, and other international products and produce that are inexpensive and plentiful.

Mountain Mike's Pizza - Great pizza...great service.

We have eaten at Mountain Mike's a couple of times and have ordered delivery many times and always are very satisfied with the quality of the pizzas. The service in the restaurant is great and the delivery people seem to always get here before the stated wait time. We are at the extreme limit of their deliver area (Clairemont Mesa Blvd at 805) and the pizzas always arrive piping hot. Great flavored crust and sauce.

Pernicano's Family Restaurant - Wonderful food, and they care.

Of thousands of restaurants in many cities, I thought the food I had here was in the top 20. I asked for Chicken Cacciatore, without mushrooms or cheese and it came as ordered and was outstanding, very good. They fixed it as I wanted and it was great. The two others with me enjoyed their meals as much. Wine is available, naturally. It is a small cozy place. No elegance, but not a pizza parlor either. They care here. I will go back frequently when I am back in San Diego.

The sauces are too sour. The cheese too heavy. India street is fine but pass up the one in Mira Mesa.

The Linkery - I'll try to forget my experience

When they brought my $18 entree my friend asked me if that was going to fill me up. I said NO! For $18. I expected more than an appetizer on my plate. The would not allow me to make a subsitution for a vegetable, so I paid for something I didn't eat, so that made the meal even smaller. The didn't have a clear soda like sprite or 7-up, so I had to have a coke, which is not my preference. The have a small sign as you enter, and if you are not looking for it you miss it, but it reads - "We DO NOT accept tips. But an 18% gratuity is already added to your bill". So tehy do accept tips and you pay 18% even if the service is worth WAY LESS. They should make that note on the menus or at least on the tables. It might explain in advance why thier prices are so HIGH! I will not go back, nor will I refer any one to the Linkery. Small portions, over-priced, poor selection, no substitutions on some items so you leave what you don't want on you rplate and still pay for it. TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Pomegranate Russian Georgian Restaurant - Bad everything

VERY average Russian/Georgian foods, severely overpriced I.e. A beer or small glass of cheap Merlot is 10$ !!! A simple plate of Borsch is 10 $ !!! The design is as of a cheap coffee shop with highschool bathroom like, vulgar-brainless writings on the walls, supposedly something "hip or cool"...I think that for the money they charge for their "Russian cafeteria" type food, they could put more emphasis on décor. Waiters are not rude, but unprofessional young ignorant boys rating 2. Owner- a greedy strange old man who resides on the couch in the restataunt at all times like a recluse and issues out bills by hand. We got lured in this hole by a family friend whose knowledge of quality Russian food is severely disturbed. Coming from a family with a long tradition of quality Russian cooking, this establishment is nothing short of a fraud a fake and a place that everyone with decent taste and understanding of food service business should definately avoid, unless you want to allow this recluse to sell you some wine for 10$ a glass that he bought at Henry's Marketplace for 1.99$ ! DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!
