And over the years it has gotten better and better. I just went there for mothers day and had an amazing time! The food, the service and music was amazing. best of all my Mom had a wonderful time. This hole-in-the wall maybe the place. Originally designed has an office building in the 60's. The lower portion has been converted into both a restaurant & bar. Open for lunch & dinner M-F, Dinner only Sat. Tues & Thurs are Karaoke nights. They have live bands on Wed, Fri & Sat nights. Close sundays. It's a low ceiling atmosphere, but the clientle are nice. The food is good and well priced. So are the drinks. Prime rib is their speciality. So if meat & fish is what your looking for. Try this place out. Although the location is in a prime spot, I'm not sure how this restaurant can stay in business. The food was tasteless, the service was slow and our bill was not correct and the manager refused to fix it. We tried disputing the charges, the manager said "well, you drank the entire drink, you have to pay for it" this all in front of her 10 year old child... so that explains how one generation is teaching the next generation how to do bad business. Needless to say, we paid on credit card, will be disputing those charges, posting reviews to fend other clientele from this place, will be contacting the better business bureau, as well as telling everyone who ever comes to Catalina to STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!! Needless to say, I agree with the other reviews that this place is horrible! Don't ever go here because you'll be over charged and they will argue with you instead of fixing their error. (And, given their unethical business practices, I wouldn't be surprised if the "nicer" reviews on this restaurant were manufactured by the owners!) We choose to go for their $0.99 Margarita special that ends at 8pm. When we arrived we were sat immediately. But we did not receive any service for at least 15minutes. The only person that approached us was the busboy that brought the table water and chips and salsa. Normally when we have gone to this restaurant we have received great service. When our extra two showed up we switched tables to accommodate the two extra people I asked to speak with the manager and was directed to the front of the restaurant, instead of the manger coming to the table. I told him what had happened and shortly there after our server was at the table taking drink orders. Mind you we have now been at the table for over 20minutes, first interaction with someone. The manager then came back and asked me to come to the front. He then informed me that the host and busboy denied that we had been there for 15 minutes and that I was basically lieing when I spoke with him the first time. Then on top of that he told me I should be understanding in that they were busy and bated me to come back on a Sunday because the service was better then. Well of course the service would be better on a dead night, no drink specials then. Needless I won't be returning to this restaurant. I just isn't worth it. Don Jose it will be from now on.
