Irish Pub Quigley's - Great Burger

If you are looking for a great burger, this is the place to go. Best to go for lunch, kind of gets crowded fast. The service was quick but had to wait a while for the check at the end. Have given the crown as best burger ever to the Cajun Angus Burger. Also, when ordering "chips" with the meal, it was actually fries, a pleasant surprise in my opinion. Has a prairie like ambiance.

The best I've had!! The owners are very attentive and the food is GREAT!! You would never guess this unassuming little place would have such good quality food. Try the spicy tuna roll and all of the special rolls. They are open from 3 to 9 on sundays now.

Al's Char-House Banquets - Al's Charho

Sue me for defamation? On what grounds? Nothing i've stated is false. Are Al's steaks prime? I don't think so. when i was there, my waitress told me they were, and we spent 120 bucks on steaks that were definitely NOT PRIME! Maybe it's I should be suing you. Do you think anything served at Al's is GOOD FOR YOU? Do you think the difference between a Boka and Al's is simply a matter of taste- ...everything from service to food far eclipses the efforts of the staff and kitchen at Al's. I'm not telling anyone not to go to Al's, and i'm not telling them to close the restaurant. I'm only saying what i would do if I WERE in their shoes. And i'm not afraid of your law degree, miss. As it turns out i'm a lawyer too, and as you know lawyers are not afraid of other lawyers....michigan 91. Anyway, if you're going to answer every one of my comments, i prefer not to involve myself any further on this site. Anyway, there are many people who feel as i do.

Al's Char-House Banquets - AL'S CHAR-HOUSE IS A GREAT STEAKHOUSE!

Mr. Michael. Everyone has a different taste in food. That is why there is such different variety out there for all of us to choose from. Perhaps I think Sunflower Bistro, and Vie have bad food. That is only my opinion. I am not speaking on behalf of the world as you are trying to do. Apparently you do not like Al's because of some reason OTHER than the food. By the way, if this was my business I'd have you in court for defamation as the claims you are making are outright false and far more than a review. I am a Harvard law school alum '73; Not an ex-employee as you've implied. Back to my main point. Al's Char-House serves up excellent food as evidenced by their existence since the early 90's. If you don't have a big appetite and don't love steaks go somewhere else. Otherwise I highly recommend Al's Char-House.

Al's Char-House Banquets - Al's Should Close it's Doors

And, mr. chefsupreme, my criticisms are not limited to Al's. There are many other lousy establishments...in fact, the substandard fare, great outnumbers the good choices. I have a problem with most corporate chains, like Applebees, red Lobster, the Olive Garden. They're all lousy.. but, I have to say, Al's is truly among the worst of the very worst. Their lack of respect of nutrition and flavor is not even subtle, but overtly displayed in the size and lack of quality of their product.

Al's Char-House Banquets - Al's contributes to Obesity in America

Listen, mr. chefsupreme, and i'm sure that's a misnomer, because you can't even acknowledge the FACT that the food at Al's Charhouse is uninventive and hackneyed fare for the indiscriminate diner, who values fried food over actual cuisine. And you don't have to spend a hundred dollars a person to get some good food. At sunflower next door, the average check is between 40-45 dollars, and that includes a drink. At Vie, it's around 55 dollars a person. At Courtwrights, it's around 60 dollars a person. In the city, there's amazing options like Boka, at 45 dollars a head. There are plenty of great and healthier choices, that are only slightly more expensive that Al's. Al's exists to make somebody a lot of money, not to give clientele an actual experience in savoriness. People do need to be reeducated concerning eating and nutrition, and place like Al's (and it's not the only one) are not creating informed and aware diners, but merely contributing to the unhealthy eating practices of Americans....who are the fattest people on earth. This way of eating is not a good thing to hand down to future generations. Why, there's Red Light and Marche, who serve far superior food to Al's, AND ARE THE SAME PRICE!

...In response to Mr. Michael below... Integrity? Perhaps you should head out in search of some for yourself. I'm not sure if you had a bad experience there or are an ex-employee but all I know is that I've been dining there for over 10 years now and have not found any remote reason why I should stop giving them my business. No one forces you to go there and no one forces me to go sit at a 5-star fine dining restaurant. If you haven't found any healthy choices there I have two recommendations. First, learn to read. Second, read the menu. My wife and I have managed to eat a balanced healthy meal there for several years. Get a life.

Al's Char-House Banquets - Al's Charhouse...a disservice to our dining scene.

"And all the extras"... sounds like something an employee at Al's would say...or someone with a vested interest in the restaurant's success. Your review is not real, but phony. It reeks of bias, bias expressed for the interest of self-preservation. Get some integrity... and acknowledge Al's for the substandard fare that it is. There is nothing Al's contributes to our neighborhood.... other than high cholesterol and heart attacks.

Al's Char-House Banquets - AL'S CHAR-HOUSE IS A GREAT STEAKHOUSE!

I must say I feel bad for this person who has some sort of grudge against a very fine restaurant like Al's Char-House. Like I've mentioned before I've been going there for many years and find many healthy choices. Everyone knows that too much of anything is not healthy. If you want to lose 100 pounds as must be this other gentleman who wants a 50 calorie meal go to Jenny Craig. Otherwise Al's Char-House is just as healthy as any other steakhouse. If you want 5 star fine dining go to the city as there are plenty of restaurants like so and you will pay as well; somewhere in the area of $100 plus per person. For the average family who wants a great meal with all the extras for a reasonable price then I recommend Al's Char-House.

Al's Char-House Banquets - Al's Charhouse, a great place to clog your arteries

First of all, in response to the last, review, i must say that i harbor no anger toward anyone, least of all a "pseudo-steakhouse" like Al's. I am a socially conscious consumer and member of the la grange community. I CARE about health, nutrition, and quality, all three of which Al's charhouse is a complete mockery of. To anyone who even thinks of Al's as cuisine, i ave one word for you...VIE... it's in western springs, and it is cuisine, properly defined.... creativity, imagination, care are in abundance in this very ambitious and attentive establishment. Al's is bad food for cheap clientele...nothing more, nothing less.

Al's Char-House Banquets - BEST STEAKHOUSE IN THE MIDWEST!

Apparently this reviewer above myself is quite the unhappy person. I've been eating at Al's Char-House for over ten years and my wife and I have been loyal customers. The portions are huge and the quality is GREAT. The staff is very friendly and the second you arrive you quickly feel "at home" here. My favorite dish is the Cajun Filet Alferno which is filet mignon medallions served over a bed of pasta with alfredo sauce and big piece of garlic bread. My wife loves the porterhouse and always has a to-go bag to bring home. Just to give these owners some credit there are plenty of healthy choices on the menu from vegetable dishes for the vegetarian to the countless amount of char-grilled items. We always order a bottle of wine but once in a while get one of their famous margaritas. I highly recommend this restaurant. A++

Al's Char-House Banquets - Al's Charhouse- an insult to the savvy diner

This is the worst steakhouse i've ever visited. Portions are large, but quality is very low at al's. I first wondered how they could sell a 3 n a half pound sirloin for under thirty bucks, but i found the answer when i tasted the meat...this is not prime steak, to be sure, nor is it choice steak, and i'm not sure if it even makes the "select' category. The food is typical TGIF- style (but not even as good) that caters to unadventurous diners who typically lack taste and class. The appetizers are loaded with grease, and I cannot say that al's charhouse is contributing in anyway to the restaurant scene in the west suburbs- it is another sub-par establishment which offends the intelligent and savvy diner by providing service and product that is not only devoid of any taste or artistic merit, but very unhealthy. In this day and age, where we have the food network and loads of literature easily available to educate the public on what cuisine is and can be, it is unfortunate that places like Al's Charhouse still exist to contaminate the collective culinary unconscious. Apparently, more exposure to the art of cuisine and value of nutrition is necessary to emancipate the ignorant diner from his backward views and eating habits, and to rid our communities of sub-standard and filthy restaurants like al's charhouse.
