I went to Stoddard's last night with a friend. We were having a great night, we both got a glass of wine and the cheese plate, she gets up to go to the bathroom, things get bused from the table, and all of a sudden her iPhone is missing.

Rockafellas - Should be better

I have been several times and keep hoping it will improve. Not bad, just not as good as it should be. Food is adequate, nothing inspirational. The servers seem bored, just going through the motions. Again, not bad and they seem like nice people, but the whole place needs to be re-inspired or something. Really poor design at the bar for how they handle food, i.e. bartender has to run back and forth between kitchen. Can't someone bring it out when it's hot?? Just very FLAT. Such a beautiful building too....

Aristo Cafe - 5 Stars for Aristo Cafe

Aristo Cafe is the new gem of the financial district! When I first entered this new cafe, I felt like I was in Paris or Milan. The highlight of Aristo Cafe is the french baguette sandwich. The sandwich fillings are artfully displayed, the wholesome ingredients and creative pairings make for a beautiful presentation and a delicious treat! On my first visit, I indulged in the "Parisian", a perfect combination of roasted beets, goat cheese, pretty little micro-greens and the kind of dijon viniagrette that you find in Paris cafes. My second delight was later in the week with the grilled croque monsieur (think grown up/european version of a classic grilled cheese sandwich with ham).

Regal Cafe - Horrible Scam

A few friends and I ordered from here a few weeks ago. To our hungry horror we found that we had to order a minimum of 3 items, so we added on mozzarella sticks to our 2 large cheese pizzas. Then they asked for a credit card to "validate for driver's safety," we found this rather odd but gave one anyway even though I told the person we were paying cash. Upon deliver of the food we were shocked to find that it cost $50 dollars and was absolutely horrible food, soggy, oily messy pizza and even worse mozzarella sticks. Then to top it off, as week later my credit card was charged another $50.00. When I called to complain I got the run around and even hung up on. Never EVER order from this place. They have several BBB complaints against them and don't seem to have any interest in improving their practices.

Monica's Restaurant - Worst restaurant experience EVER!

I dined with 7 friends of mine the night of Sept. 19 2009 at Monica's Restaurant in the North End. After a dinner with extremely poor service (grant it it was a busy night) we decided that the "20% auto-grat" on the bill was a little ridiculous. We paid the bill for the food and drinks in full and did not pay $10 of the $80 or so tip. I received a phone call half an hour later (they had my number from the reservation) that we had shorted them $20 on the bill and if they could charge that amount on a credit card. I told the caller that I would come back to the restaurant to explain (I was just around the corner). When I reached the restaurant the extremely rude hostess presented me with the bill saying we had shorted them $20 not $10 as we originally had. I explained to the hostess that the service we received that night was horrible and that we felt that the included 20% tip was excessive. She said we had no choice and we needed to pay it. A minute later a man appeared from the back and started verbally harrasing and threatening myself and my friend who had accompanied me back to the restaurant. He started swearing and telling us to "F*ck Ourselves". He said we must pay for what the bill stated. I calmly tried to explain that the service was not worth the 20%, simple as that. He began yelling in our faces and quite frankly scared me. I asked him who he was (as I figured I would call the restaurant and talk to the owner about this completely absurd, innapropriate and unprofessional encounter- I thought they needed to know this happened). The man looked at me and said he WAS the owner- I was in disbelief. I told him I had been coming to the restaurant for years (which is true) and that if that was true, that he was the owner and was treating me the customer this way, I would never ever return. He said he didnt care and that he didn't want "to see us there ever again". He repeated his offensive language and was yelling and getting all red in the face during this encounter. I honestly was completely taken back and just paid the $20 to get out of there, I was afraid he would do something awful. He had already grabbed my friends arm during all of this. His behavior is unacceptable and I will NEVER dine there again or the trattoria on Prince Street- he's awful! Now that I read other reviews I am finding im not the only one who has dealt with him, tooo bad, the food was good, but there are many other places...

La Famiglia Giorgio's - Awful!.. Worst in North End

I have never ever had a bill ripped up and thrown in my face.. well at least my husband's face!!! We were with a big group and for some reason half of our food didn't make it to the table. The service was awful, we watched other tables get food as well as half our table had food. Finally, when half our party asked for to go bags.. they told us they ddin't put the bill in.

Comella's - CAREFUL WHAT YOU EAT

On July 2, 2009 I placed order for my office. One of the items was a meatloaf sub. I don't eat it when I get it ... I save for breakfast the next day (cold & delicious). Moving along .... the morning of July 3rd I was into about the 3rd bite when I bit into something rather hard. As any normal reaction I spit it out. Only to find a large white pill. I called Comella's and informed them. They said they would take it up with one of the owners and call me back. Well I did get a call back from a staff member and was told to call Matt ... don't know who he is but I called and left my name & number on the 3rd. Today is the 7th and I still never heard back from Matt .... and I doubt I ever will. Just an FYI ... I ordered from the W Roxbury MA location.

Regal Cafe - Scam

This place should advertise "nothing else open and you really can't go to sleep hungry?" try regal cafe! This place should be an absolute last resort option if you are trying to order food... LAST RESORT. They will want your credit card for any size order, they will also want you to make a minimum order of $35-40, and everything is overpriced, not to mention I believe they charge you at least $5 delivery charge, ridiculous waste of money (in my opinion). The pizza I got from them appears to be microwaved, because there is no way this thing got that soggy in an oven.
