Skip Mickie D's, go straight for cheap dim sum
Reviewed By laughter99 Aug 10, 2008

You have to have a sense of humor and like to go slumming to eat at Yum Cha, inside the San Gabriel Superstore. The line has no beginning or end, just a middle. If you only speak English, pointing and shouting "one order!" and holding up the requisite number of fingers will work just fine. This is Chinese comfort food, sometimes greasy, sometimes just exactly what you want. For $1.29, you get three large, fluffy fried shrimp balls. For $1, you get an order of delicious dumplings or pot stickers filled with shrimp or pork. Don't miss the item that looks like a gelatinous sunny-side up egg but prepare yourself, it's actually dessert. You could feed an army for $20. Skip the bao, they're not up to par, but everything else is. They have a stand-alone place on Atlantic near the 10 -- facing Atlantic in the strip mall where Dumpling Master is located with indoor and outdoor seating.
