I visited this restaurant and ordered from the take-out side. When I went back I went inside the restaurant and I was very impressed. You wouldn't have thought that such an elegant place was there.
The waitress was very kind and even placed my napkin on my lap. I was very surprised. I ordered the brown stew snapper and I could smell it while it was being prepared. It was presented very nicely and it tasted wonderful. I recommend this restaurant and I will be returning.
The best food and culture you can find: We went to Port Royal Jamaican Restaurant for the first time on our anniversary and the food was exceptional. We asked if we could meet the chef. The service is excellent as well as the ambiance. Whatever your culture and food preference the chef can make it.
" Since that one time we always include at least one meal at Port Royal Jamaican Restaurant any time we are in queens N.Y. We recommend this place over and over again.

I recently visited this restaurant and was impressed with the taste and presentation of the dish I ordered. I had a coconut rundown snapper......so good....it was a large portion. My friend had an oxtail meal he enjoyed and a drink called "Pain" (it had the right amount of alcohol and was very tasty). The place has a large eating area with calming, relaxing, romantic and visually appealing ambiance. There is also a bar area with a flat screen tv. Prices on the menu are reasonable and portions are large. The staff was very professional and very accomodating. They have a nice breakfast menu.....I can't wait to try the hominy porridge. If you want to order take out they have a separate number 718-323-6611.
