Oceanaire's philosophy seems to be to get the freshest, best quality food, and prepare it simply and perfectly. It's a policy that I appreciate as too many restaurants have clever, novel menus, but fall short on execution. People forget that there's beauty in simplicity.

"That being said, I've dined at seafood restaurants all over the country, from hole-in-the-wall shacks in the bayou to five-star establishments in cities across the U. While most seafood joints lay claim to having the "freshest" seafood around, few can act..."
"The vibe at the Oceanaire — with locations in Dallas, Minneapolis and Seattle, to name a few — is all about classic indulgence. The Rat Pack croons in the background as diners feast on massive shellfish towers, caviar and "colossal" Australian..."

"Sip a Sidecar in the lounge, sidle up to the oyster bar, or kick back in a horseshoe booth before diving into a sea of Ultra-Fresh fish, including steak-cut Alaskan halibut, seasonal favorites like fresh Copper River salmon or hard-to-find delicacies like..."
"Everything was extraordinarily fresh and the choice of four dipping sauces (garlic anoli, soy sauce infused with garlic and ginger, red wine vinegar mix and cocktail sauce) that accompanied it only heightened the appreciation of the food...."
"For our entrees we chose the Oven Roasted Alaskan Halibut (fingerling potatoes, haricot verts with leek soubise and tapenade) and the Fisherman’s Platter (Alaskan Halibut, Black Tiger Shrimp, Pacific Oysters and Scallops with Salt & Vinegar Frie..."
"The understated entrance to Oceanaire is at the Downtown corner of Fourth Avenue and J Street. With only a small oval-shaped sign and a couple of neon-lit fish in the windows to mark its location, it is easy to miss...."
"The Oceanaire Seafood Room is an elegant restaurant, reminiscent of a dining salon on a luxury cruise ship from a bygone era. It is a chain restaurant, but if all chains maintained this level of quality, the associated negative stigma would vanish...."
"It seems almost plausible that you may see Errol Flynn or Greta Garbo saunter through the door of this 1930s art deco styled dining room. Combining the quality of a fine eatery with the jovial nuance of a neighborhood haunt, Oceanaire's oyster bar is a po..."
"On a recent trip to San Diego, my friends insisted we go to the Oceanaire Seafood Room. A self proclaimed seafood enthusiast, I was more than excited to see what the restaurant had to offer...."
"If you're looking to blow a bundle on the finest seafood money can buy, The Oceanaire is the place to go. From the more common dishes like Gulf of Mexico Red Snapper and Live Maine Lobsters, to the truly exotic, such as Whole Dover Sole and Sea of Cortez..."
