I have just returned from Memphis Cafe where I had one of the worst experiences with a restaurant in recent history.
We stopped in for drinks and appetizers, and besides not getting any service for awhile (in a pretty empty, small room), and only getting half our order (only 1 of 2 drinks), the crab cakes were burnt and the pizza was so inedible and cold that we couldn't even eat it.
Another major problem came when I pointed out to the waitress that my tonic was flat... She said, no I was wrong, their drinks were just a "little" less carbonated then other places. I assured her it was flat - I knew the difference - and her reply was, "Well, we do get that a lot, people are always complaining about getting flat drinks... it's just the way it is here."
Instead of believing me, or helping me, or testing their tonic, she basically told me all my type of drinks were flat, and too bad for me. The kicker; she and another waitress had the nerve to joke about it and say it give them something to laugh about!
Now, with just O.K. food seemingly getting gradually worse over time, horrible appetizers, inattentive service, then flat out BAD service, I have to say that there are no redeeming qualities at Memphis anymore that make it worth the effort to go. I can find much better food and service someplace else that cares about my business - and doesn't inspire me to go to the trouble of writing a bad review about it!

"OC trendsters sit back in slick booths and nosh on Southern-style food with a definite California edge, like gumbo, fried chicken or catfish, and steak, meatloaf or pork chops. There's also breakfast and brunch from 10:30am to 2:30pm on Saturday and Sunda..."
