Horrible Customer Service
Reviewed By spcupcake Apr 20, 2009

This place is HORRIBLE, the food is not any better and it's overpriced. The WORST customer service ever, just wasn't worth the wait for the food. Stay away from this place even if you can speak Chinese.

Used to be better

Jasmine is probably San Diego's most popular dim sum restaurant. I think the consistency of the food has been slipping of late, and I could swear that it's gotten a lot less crowded.

Recently, it's been a real crap shoot whether the food will be decent. I used to love their chicken feet -- you could just put it in your mouth and it would be so tender it will fall apart in your mouth (I know that sounds gross to the uninitiated, just image it's a chicken wing). The last time I went, it was very tough and the marinade didn't permeate through the meat.

I've had this experience with lots of dishes I've had here. I tried their custard buns recently. I used to crave these delicate, creamy delicacies, but I tried them recently and they were dry and slightly burnt. The shrimp in rice noodle has sometimes been good, other times gummy.

I don't think that all their food is bad, but it just seems that the quality has varied a lot more recently. Strangely, I used to think their service was pretty bad, and I think it's been better recently. Maybe they need to be nicer now to help retain customers.
