Besides my beloved Caffe Calabria, this is the place I go to most frequently for my coffee fix. I've even gotten a few latte art quality drinks here.
I usually come here when I feel like a little breakfast pastry. Most indie coffeehouses in San Diego buy their pastries from the same wholesale bakery, and they aren't that good. Influx's make their own danishes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and scones, and they are all very tasty. My favorite is the almond danish, pastry filled with almond paste and topped with apricots.
They also serve some breakfast items as well as salads and sandwiches. One of my favorites is their homemade granola cereal. It's much fresher tasting than the your average supermarket stuff.
The only downside for me is that with the hipster clientele and staff, I always feel kind of uncool there. But I guess I feel like that lots of places.
