Delicious chocolate, bonbons, and truffles
Reviewed By howie Apr 21, 2007

It's so great to have a real world class artisan chocolate maker local to San Diego. They show a real commitment to quality ingredients.

I love how their chocolates have such a nice balance of flavor. There's not that cloying sweetness that you often get with other truffles and bonbons. Their exotic flavors, like one with goat cheese and another with green tea, taste new and intriguing without tasting foreign.

They also have great flavored chocolate bars; my favorite is the Spicy Maya bar. They also carry sugar-free chocolate bars, which were designed for the owner's diabetic father.

The UTC Mall location also serves coffee and espresso drinks. I love their caramel latte with real homemade caramel; it lends a real buttery finish to the drink. Very decadent!

"How did they do it? By adding flavorings to the bars instead of just melting down bulk couverture and molding it plain or adding some nuts. The flavors are well-balanced and add that little bit of taste that is missing when you take the sugar away...."
