Isn’t it great that each month provides us with another excuse to cook a huge feast? Easter is here, and it’s time to bring out those baked ham and roast lamb recipes. I’ve been intrigued by mentions of Coca-Cola Ham. I think I first heard about it from Nigella Lawson, but I’ve never made it before. Perhaps this is finally the year.
As for the other dishes, here are some other ideas:
- Deviled Eggs - This is one of those dishes that I only make once a year. Every time Easter rolls around, I can’t go without making them.
- Spring Pea Soup - If they’re available, you should try to enjoy spring peas while you can. The chilled spring pea soup from the infamous Gordon Ramsay sounds wonderful.
- Roast Carrots - They are so simple to make — nearly foolproof, and they’re just perfect for the occasion. It’s a nice change from glazed carrots, which I think are easier to mess up.
- Asparagus Salad - Asparagus season is just getting started. Serving them in a salad makes timing them much easier. My favorite way to eat asparagus is to roast them, but I always worry about letting them sit out while I’m fussing with the other dishes.
- Fruit Tart - A lot of berries are reaching their peak right about now, so grab them up and use them.

Hi!
I just found Foodie View after seeing it mentioned on Kalyn’s Kitchen … what a great site and what an awesome tool. I’m adding you to my blog links. I’ve already searched for some recipes on this site and am thrilled with the results.
Good job!

Thanks for the kind words, Ivonne!
It looks like we’re going to have to include your site in the search as well. The pictures and recipes on your site look absolutely beautiful!

Hi Howie,
Thanks! I’d love that. I’ve already created my recipe box for Foodie View and have linked to it on my site. What an excellent search engine. I found two recipes that I’ve been looking for for some time (Williamsburg cake and black walnut cake).
Keep up the great work!

I highly recommend Nigella Lawson’s ham recipes (for the one with soda you can use any full sugar soda- Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Dr. Pepper, ect).
She has another similar recipe that uses apple and cranberry juices and cranberry jelly for the glaze. This is a good Xmas brunch entree.
