We just finished revamping the recipe box on FoodieView. The most important change is that newly registered recipe boxes are now publicly viewable. This means that you can give a simple URL to friends and family so they can see what your favorite recipes are. They’ll only be able to see your recipe box; they won’t be able to add or remove from it. Here’s my recipe box, by the way:
http://www.foodieview.com/recipebox/howie
People who have already registered with recipe boxes may enable them for public viewing. To make your recipe box public, just click here, and enter your username and password. Your recipe box will then be viewable at http://www.foodieview.com/recipebox/my_user_name.
A couple of other changes… We got rid of the “narrow down by category” feature in the recipe box since people didn’t seem to use it much, and it didn’t seem flexible enough. Instead you can sort recipes alphabetically or by the date that you added it. You can also use the new recipe box search form to filter the recipes. The recipe box search isn’t as full-featured as the regular recipe search, but I think it will help people find what they need more quickly.
We hope you like the changes. Let us know if you spot anything fishy…
