Just use FoodieView to search for the items that you have on hand, and see what recipes turn up. For instance, if you have some chicken, olives, capers, and pasta lying around, just type in chicken olives capers pasta into the search box and see what comes up. It’s a great way to prevent wasting your groceries, and it often yields ideas that you wouldn’t have considered on your own.
That said, if you search for everything you have in the fridge, or for stuff that really doesn’t go together (like cheese, chocolate, and anchovies), it’s not going to come up with anything. Combinations of three or four ingredients usually result in some interesting recipes. If you don’t get anything good, try making the search more general by dropping an ingredient.
